Project Description

Within the scope of this project, a new 5,000 m³ capacity buffer tank is being constructed in the Ballast Area of the BOTAŞ Petroleum Operations Regional Directorate. The system is designed to allow product transfer between ITP storage tanks and tankers docking at Berth-3 and Berth-4 without cross-contamination. In addition to the tank, the scope includes the construction of a pump station, piping systems, firefighting systems, electrical infrastructure, automation, and all associated civil works.

Scope of Work

Civil & Infrastructure Works

  • Construction of reinforced concrete tank foundation and containment bund

  • Impermeable soil preparation and site concrete within the bund

  • Emergency escape platforms, support foundations, access roads, and relocations

  • Demolition and renovation works in existing buildings

Mechanical Works

  • Fabrication of one vertical cylindrical steel tank with floating roof (5,000 m³)

  • Installation of tank accessories: mixers, firefighting foam system, internal piping, nozzles

  • Supply and installation of an additional transfer pump group in parallel

  • Aboveground and underground pipeline installations (API 5L X65 PSL2)

  • Valve installations, manifold upgrades, steel pipe coating and painting

  • Mechanical testing and commissioning

Electrical Works

  • Power supply, grounding, lightning protection, and cathodic protection systems for the tank

  • Illumination and low-voltage systems

  • New transfer pump power feed systems

  • DCS panel integration and electrical commissioning

Automation & Fire Detection Systems

  • Fire detection and automated fire valve control systems

  • Radar level measurement and temperature monitoring instruments

  • Full integration with existing DCS system and software updates

  • Use of explosion-proof equipment and signal transmission via copper cables
